spike healing build
this build works for pvp and pve pretty well... ive been using it for 6 months now.
divine favor 14
healing prayers 16
protection 4
1. divine spirit (mana management)
2. healing touch (only use this to heal yourself)
3 orison of healing (this is another spell to heal yourself and lightly heal others)
4. heal other (very high mana used spike healing spell- always use divine spirit before this spell)
5. word of healing (spike heal spell low mana used)
6.infuse health ( last resort spike heal will heal anyone full- instantly use healing touch on yourself after using this)
7. remove hex (with all the divine favor this will also heal the target a bit)
8. rebirth (long ranged res-only use not in combat)
tell me what you think this is my first post.

Who needs that much healing?
(Healing Touch, Divine Spirit sucks balls, btw. Remove Hex and Rebirth are non-optimal for PvP, and Orison is also crap, although not as crappy as others.)

Looks great for spiking, but once Divine Spirit is over, I don't think it could sustain healing for very long. That's bad in PvE, where spikes are rare, and wouldn't work in PvP against pressure.
You might try subbing Dwayna's Kiss for Heal Other. It can outheal Heal Other pretty easily, and for half the cost.
Also, Remove Hex's 2-second cast time hurts. That's two seconds that you can't respond to a spike. Inspired Hex isn't as useful as it used to be, but still works. Holy Veil is nice, and you can precast it.
Divine Spirit only lasts 13 seconds at 14 DF. It's okay for a spike, but that's all your build will be able to do. Most fights will last longer than 13 seconds. Try some other energy management, another cheap heal, or maybe some conditional removal.
This is a nice try at a build. I used to run something like this way-back-when.

spike heal is by far inferior to prior protting but if you insist on using it than you'll probably need [skill]Glimmer of Light[/skill] as your spike heal with [skill]Infuse Health[/skill] and [skill]Healing Touch[/skill] to heal yourself after the infuse. [skill]Dwayna's Kiss[/skill] is an excellent cheap heal in PvP while very zone dependant in PvE where you dont need spike healing anyway.the rest are optional, condition and hex removal, holy veil is a good choice here, especially for PvP. also some sort of energy management, [skill]Channeling[/skill] works wonders here if the match(non GvG) or map(GvG) allow you to compromise your position for it...

Why would anyone have a spike healer in PvE? No monsters do real spikes, so a simple WoH would save the day easily. As for PvP, if you try to take a superior AND a major rune as an infuser, along with divine spirit, remove hex, and rebirth, people will just laugh and tell you to go back to PvE. Apparently this build fails at BOTH PvE and PvP.
Having both WoH and Heal other is rather redundant too in PvE...

those are all really good suggestions that ill use because i just got both expansion so im able to get some new skills too... as for why using spike healing in pve i mainly use my healer during FOW and that place will take you down to below half health in 1 or 2 hits unless your a tank so i find spike healing really good for there... i also just made my monk 55 armour and am looking for a good build for 55ing in UW with an SS necro if anyone has a really good build that theyve posted or found that'd be nice if they put a link to the build up.
thanks for the advice ^^

I've actually used divine spirit to much success in elite areas. When your group is really getting into trouble, throw it on and spam heal as fast as you can (bring at least 3). I realize recharge is horribly long, but for that 13 seconds, remember you and your other monks are recharging energy. Everyone should be 100% after your 13 seconds of fame. The key is to only use it when a party wipeout is about to happen, and combine it with a serpents quickness to shave off 20 seconds of recharge...
